It has been a time for gifting in the Huxtable household. My own birthday followed by my Daughter's means that there has been quite a bit of present opening going on over the last few weeks. My cake decorating skills have been called upon once again (see photo attached), and I feel that I have met the challenge of the 'Party Dinosaur' cake with some aplomb!
Thanks for all the birthday messages and well wishing received from so many of you from all over the world. It is always very humbling to receive so many messages from so many great people! Thanks also to all my family and friends who bought me gifts (mainly books and alcohol; my favourite things). Consequently, I would like to say thanks through a gift of my own to you; a free .pdf of one of my Percussion Ensemble arrangements.
I originally arranged Dvorak's 8th Slavonic Dance for the Birmingham Conservatoire Percussion ensemble. Further to the debut, it became a hit on the first World Percussion Group tour back in 2016 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K-LdFTCIIU) It then received performances from percussion ensembles in the US including at Southern Utah University (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6OQwjYSZkw) and Concordia College (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdruPzFZ5C8).
I know it seems like performing together as a percussion ensemble will not be a reality for the foreseeable future but maybe some of you would be interested in working on this arrangement with your University, or High School, ensembles as a Social Distance video recording project. I think it could work well....
Enjoy the gift and do get in touch if you have any questions.
